Unexpected Plot Twist: Tragedy Strikes Game of Thrones Star Darren Kent at 36

Actor Darren Kent, who passed away recently, was perhaps most recognized for his work on the HBO series Game of Thrones. Variety, a news publication based in the United States, reported that Kent passed away on August 11th. He was well into his 40s at the time.
In a statement that was published to Twitter on Tuesday, his talent agency, Carey Dodd Associates, provided confirmation of the rumors that he had passed away.
“It is with profound regret that we must inform you that on Friday, our beloved friend and client Darren Kent died away in a gentle manner. Please accept our sincere condolences. His mother and father, along with his best buddy, were there to support him. During this terrible time, his family is at the forefront of our thoughts and prayers. “Rest in peace, my friend,” the agency added.
Among the other films that he has worked on are Snow White and the Huntsman, Marshal’s Law, Bloody Cuts, The Frankenstein Chronicles, Blood Drive, and Birds Sorrow.

In 2012, Kent earned the award for best actor at the Van D’or Awards for his performance in the film Sunny child as Danny, a young child whose skin was affected by a rare illness that prevented him from going out in the sun. In addition to osteoporosis and arthritis, Kent struggled with a skin problem throughout his life, just like the man he played in the movie.

According to Variety, he was also a writer and director who had won awards for his work. He was responsible for directing the 2021 short film You Know Me, which won him a January Award.

Kent was born in Essex and raised there. He went to Italia Conti for his education and graduated in 2007. His first significant acting job was in the horror film from 2008. After that, he appeared in the series Game of Thrones, which won an Emmy. In the HBO series Game of Thrones, Kent played a character named Slavers Bay who worked as a goatherd.

 

The most recent time we saw him was in the 2023 movie Dungeons and Dragons: Honor Among Thieves, where he played the role of a reanimated corpse.
