To compete with countries that have flourished economically over the past two to three decades, India will need to alter its work ethic. The solution is for young people to work harder. Dr. Narayana Murthy, Co-Founder of Infosys  Output in India, he claims, is the lowest of any major economy. To achieve this, he advocated for a 70-hour work week for the country’s youth.

In a podcast, Murthy discussed the youth of today, the state of technology, and his own company, Infosys. He gave his opinion on numerous issues of this nature. After the Second World War, Japan and Germany reached the zenith of civilization, according to Narayan Murthy.
Narayan Murthy also provided insight into why India’s labour productivity is so poor. Murthy blamed the loss in output on corruption in government and bureaucratic red tape. The productivity of Indian workers is really low. If we don’t clean up government and cut down on unnecessary regulations, we won’t be able to compete with countries that have made great strides in recent years.

Narayan Murthy has stated that the youth of the country must step up in order to boost national production. I’d love to work 70 hours a week, and I encourage young people to step up and claim it as their own. According to Narayana Murthy, this was done by Japan and Germany after WWII. Both nations have been forcing their citizens to put in overtime for quite some time.
According to Narayan Murthy, India has the world’s greatest population of young people. Therefore, it is also the youth’s responsibility to lead the country ahead down the road to development. There needs to be a shift in the national work ethic. Discipline, effort, and persistence should form the foundation. Murthy warned that without that, the government would be powerless.
