Israel-Hamas War:In the midst of the conflict between Hamas and Israel, India on Sunday dispatched a humanitarian supply shipment to the besieged Palestinians in the Gaza Strip. Nearly 6.5 metric tonnes of medical assistance and 32 metric tonnes of disaster relief supplies have been shipped to Palestine. These supplies will enter the nation by way of Egypt.

An official spokeswoman for the External Affairs Ministry named Arindam Bagchi took to X (formerly known as Twitter) and stated, “An IAF C-17 flight carrying nearly 6.5 tonnes of medical aid and 32 tonnes of disaster relief material for the people of Palestine departs for El-Arish airport in Egypt.” El-Arish airport is located in Egypt.
The goods will be transported to Palestine through the border crossing at Rafah, which is located between Egypt and Gaza. Israel-Hamas War

Bagchi told that the critical life-saving medicines, surgical goods, tents, sleeping bags, tarpaulins, sanitary utilities, and water purification tablets are among the important products that are included in the humanitarian relief.
The announcement of India’s assistance to Palestine came three days after Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke with President Mahmoud Abbas of the Palestinian Authority. During their conversation on Thursday, Prime Minister Modi of India stated that India would maintain its current level of humanitarian aid to the Palestinian people. In addition to this, he extended his sympathies for the innocent lives that were taken in the Gaza Strip when a hospital was targeted by a bombing.

“Shared our deep concern at the deteriorating security situation in the region as well as the rise in acts of terrorism and violence.” After his conversation with Abbas, Prime Minister Modi stated that he had “reiterated India’s long-standing principled position on the Israel-Palestine issue.”
Since it began on October 7 following a surprise and unprecedented onslaught by the Palestinian terrorist group Hamas, the brutal war between Israel and Hamas has so far claimed the lives of over 5,000 people on both sides and has produced a catastrophic humanitarian crisis in the Middle East. The murderous attack carried out by Hamas, which saw the group infiltrate via land into the communities in southern Israel and fire down citizens on the streets and in their houses, has prompted heavy condemnation from throughout the globe and from the leaders of the world’s most powerful nations. The Israeli counteroffensive known as “Operation Iron Swords,” which attempted to eliminate Hamas operative bases in Gaza, has inflicted havoc in the region, causing inhabitants to evacuate their homes and rendering key facilities and hospitals barely functional.

The recent bombing of a hospital in Gaza, which is alleged to have caused the deaths of hundreds of people, has been met with severe condemnation from world leaders. Israel has denied the assertion that Israeli rocket strikes were to blame for the catastrophe, which was initially made by Hamas.
In the meantime, Israel is preparing for a ground offensive in Gaza with a coordinated approach in order to take on Hamas. Earlier, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that his country will “crush and destroy” Hamas. Israel is currently in the process of preparing for this ground offensive.
