During the budget presentation in the Vidhan Sabha, Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar announced a significant move to waive electricity bill dues for 44 lakh farmers in Maharashtra. This measure will cost the government Rs 14,761 crores. The announcement came a day after the Monsoon Session of the Assembly began. Additionally, Pawar introduced the CM Mazi Ladki Bahin scheme, which will provide women aged between 21 and 60 years with a monthly payment of Rs 1,500. On the first day of the Monsoon Session, members of the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) protested against issues affecting farmers and concerns related to a leak in the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test Undergraduate (NEET-UG) exam paper.
