Who was Hardeep Singh Nijjar, the Canadian and Indian national at the crux of the conflict over the Khalistan terrorist group?

On June 18th, a pro-Khalistan supporter named Hardeep Singh Nijjar was murdered in front of a Sikh cultural facility in Surrey, British Columbia.

A senior Indian diplomat was expelled from Canada on Monday as the country investigates the shooting of pro-Khalistan terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar. There are “credible allegations of a potential link,” Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said of the alleged involvement of Indian government agents in the death of the Khalistani terrorist.

On June 18th, outside a Sikh cultural institution in Surrey, British Columbia, Hardeep Singh Nijjar was gunned down. “Any involvement of a foreign government in the killing of a Canadian citizen on Canadian soil is an unacceptable violation of our sovereignty,” Trudeau said in parliament.

The Canadian prime minister said his government has been communicating and working closely with Canada’s friends on the matter. Canada and India’s relationship has been strained as a result of an increase in pro-Khalistan activities in Canada, which has led to the expulsion.

Find out who Hardeep Singh Nijjar is.

1)Nijjar was the ‘Number 2’ of the outlawed Indian separatist group Sikhs for Justice (SFJ), right after Gurpatwant Singh Pannun. According to documents compiled by the Punjab Police, he emigrated to Canada in 1996 from the village of Bharsingh Pura in Jalandhar.

2)He moved to Canada and worked as a plumber at first, but his fortune has exploded in the last few years because to his advocacy for Khalistan.

Nijjar’s ties to terrorism may be traced back to his time spent under Jagtar Singh Tara’s leadership in the terrorist organisation Babbar Khalsa International. Soon after, he formed the Khalistan Tiger Force (KTF), his own independent organisation. Over ten First Information Reports (FIRs) have been filed against him due to his role in the discovery, networking, training, and funding of Khalistani cells in India.

4)In 2014, Baba Bhaniara, a self-proclaimed spiritual guru, was murdered by a group led by Nijjar. In 2015, he sent Mandeep Singh Dhaliwal to a training camp in Canada to be instructed before being sent to Punjab to assassinate Shiv Sena leaders. As of June 2016, Mandeep was in police custody.

5)In November of 2020, Nijjar formed a partnership with Arsh Dalla, another thug living abroad. In 2021, at Manohar Lal’s office in Bhagta Bhai Ka, Bathinda, they conspired to murder Dera Sacha Sauda devotee Manohar Lal.
