Volkswagen India has unveiled two striking new variants of its highly acclaimed sedan, the Virtus: the Virtus GT Line and the Virtus GT Plus. These models are priced at an attractive starting point of ₹14.07 lakh and ₹17.84 lakh (ex-showroom), respectively. According to HT Auto, alongside these exciting additions, Volkswagen has also introduced the Highline Plus trim for both the Virtus and Taigun, as well as an enhanced feature package for the Taigun GT Line.
The newly launched Virtus GT Line and GT Plus variants boast a multitude of enhancements designed to elevate both their visual appeal and driving dynamics. Externally, they showcase a bold transformation with smoked LED headlights that pierce through the night, while a Carbon Steel Grey roof adds a striking contrast. Eye-catching red accents punctuate their design—the iconic GT badge gleams on the grille, and vivid red brake calipers adorn the GT Plus variant, underscoring its performance pedigree.
Adding to their sporty aesthetic are dark chrome-finished door handles and 16-inch black alloy wheels that perfectly complement the aggressive stance of these vehicles. Additional blacked-out elements further enrich their dynamic styling, ensuring that both variants not only turn heads but also promise an exhilarating driving experience on every journey.
Step inside, and you are immediately enveloped in a luxurious, sporty ambiance that speaks to the discerning driver. The cabin features sumptuous black leatherette upholstery, elegantly stitched with vibrant red accents that catch the eye. Glossy black dashboard elements glisten under the soft interior lighting, while sleek aluminium pedals add a touch of modernity and performance flair. The GT insignia proudly graces the front headrests, reinforcing the vehicle’s sporty pedigree. A sport-style steering wheel, also adorned with striking red stitching, invites drivers to take control, complemented by darkened grab handles and sun visors that enhance the cabin’s distinct character.
When it comes to performance, the Virtus GT Plus stands out with its robust 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine, delivering an exhilarating 148 bhp and a formidable 250 Nm of torque. This powerhouse is coupled with a standard 6-speed manual gearbox for those who crave an engaging driving experience, while an optional 7-speed DSG transmission provides seamless shifts for those preferring convenience.
Meanwhile, the Virtus GT Line offers its own spirited drive with a nimble 1.0-litre TSI engine generating an impressive 113 bhp and 178 Nm of torque. It comes equipped with either a smooth-shifting 6-speed torque converter automatic or a manual transmission option.
In an exciting expansion of its lineup, Volkswagen has introduced the Highline Plus trim for both the Virtus and Taigun models. Priced at ₹14.26 lakh for the Taigun and ₹13.87 lakh for the Virtus, this new trim elevates these vehicles with advanced technological features designed to enhance both comfort and connectivity on every journey.
The Volkswagen Taigun GT Line boasts an impressive array of upgraded features that elevate its driving experience to new heights. It showcases a striking 20.32 cm digital instrument cluster, gleaming aluminium pedals that add a sporty touch, a luxurious electric sunroof inviting in natural light, and advanced rain-sensing wipers that respond intuitively to changing weather conditions. Together, these enhancements create an environment that epitomizes sophistication and comfort on the road.
