The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has officially disclosed the outcomes of the Civil Service (Preliminary) Examinations for 2024 on July 1st.
Those who participated in the exams are encouraged to verify their results on the official website at upsc.gov.in. Successful candidates from the preliminary exams will advance to the next significant phase, UPSC CSE Mains 2024, and subsequently to the Interview or Personality Test round. It is important to note that candidate eligibility is currently provisional. As per examination regulations, all successful candidates must reapply using Detailed Application Form-I (DAF-I) for the Civil Services (Main) Examination, 2024. Details regarding DAF-I submission deadlines and guidelines will be communicated in due course on the Commission’s website. The UPSC CSE Prelims 2024 took place nationwide on June 16th at various examination centers.
This initial examination comprised two objective-type papers with a total of 400 marks available for candidates. The UPSC had previously outlined specific criteria for qualifying candidates based on minimum marks required in General Studies Paper-II and overall General Studies Paper-I scores from the Preliminary Examination. Following completion of UPSC Civil Services 2024 assessment, a total of 1056 vacancies within central government services and departments will be filled, including positions in prestigious services such as IAS, IPS, and IFS.
Among these vacancies, there are reserved slots for Persons with Benchmark Disability Category amounting to forty positions.
