On January 22, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be present at the ‘Pran Pratishtha’ ceremony that will take place at the Ram temple in Ayodhya. On this day, the idol of Lord Ram will be brought inside the temple to its new home. Ahead of the Prime Minister’s trip to Ayodhya, Muslims have asked him to fulfil their request to inaugurate the construction of the new Babri Masjid by laying the foundation stone.
The landmark decision that the Supreme Court made in 2019 on the Ayodhya property issue said that the Ram Temple would be built on the 2.77 acres that were in dispute, and that Muslims would be granted an alternate plot of land in Dhannipur that was 5 acres in size for the construction of the Babri Masjid.
In the same time that the ‘Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra’ was established in order to oversee the building of the temple, the ‘Indo-Islamic Cultural Foundation’ was established in order to monitor the building of the mosque.
On the other hand, Muslims have recently urged that changes be made to the trustees of the Indo-Islamic Cultural Foundation. They have made it clear that they are unhappy with the rate at which the mosque is being built. While the installation of the deity of Lord Ram in the temple is scheduled for the month of January, the cornerstone of the mosque has not yet been set.
Muslims have asked Prime Minister Modi to also place the stone that would serve as the mosque’s foundation during his trip to Ayodhya in January. An auspicious occasion has been planned for the visit of our Prime Minister to Ayodhya. We ask him to get started on the construction of the mosque as well. Mohammad Ismail Ansari, President of the Indian Muslim League, expressed this as the organization’s most sincere hope.
Iqbal Ansari, who was one of the primary petitioners in the dispute between the Babri Masjid and the Ram temple, pointed the finger of blame at members of the Indo-Islamic Cultural Foundation for the delay in the construction of the mosque.
He stated that if the trustees had been correct, then some work would have been completed by this point in time. “The government should cooperate in the construction of the mosque and the trustees should also be changed,” stated the politician.
The work on the ground level of the three-story Ram temple has been finished, and the temple trust has decided to begin the process of consecrating Ram Lalla on Makar Sankranti, which is on January 14. This is an important development.
Acting State President of the Indian Muslim League, Nazmul Hasan Ghani, approached Prime Minister Narendra Modi with a request to have Imam Ahmed Bukhari of Jama Masjid and Dr. Ilyasi, President of the All India Imam Organisation, present during the laying of the foundation stone for the Dhannipur mosque. Both men are prominent religious leaders in India.
