Madhur Jain, a student at Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), achieved the highest score in the Chartered Accountants (CA) final exam in November 2023, with a percentage of 77.38.
He scored 619 out of 800 marks. Madhur attributes his success to hard work, a solid study plan, guidance from mentors, and daily review.
He thoroughly used the ICAI materials, followed his mentors’ advice, and dedicated 7-8 hours each day to studying for the CA exam. In addition to his daily study, Madhur took two practice tests for each subject before the exam and worked on sample papers and past exam papers.
He found the practice tests particularly useful for getting used to the exam format and assessing his readiness. He also found past papers helpful, but cautioned against expecting the same questions to appear in the actual exam.
CA Final Topper Madhur Jain advises students to use ICAI study materials, practice sample papers, and take mock tests. Besides his success in the CA Final exam, Madhur also ranked 13th in the CA Inter Exam and 15th in the CA Foundation exam.
He is currently studying for the Chartered Financial Analyst program and plans to work in finance. In 2022, he earned his Bachelor of Commerce degree from IGNOU.
Madhur is originally from Jaipur but now lives in Moti Nagar, Delhi with his mother, who has been a major source of inspiration for him. His uncle, a CA, has also provided significant guidance.
This year, 9.42% of students passed the CA final exam. Sanskruti Atul Parolia from Mumbai came in second with 74.88%, and Rishi Malhotra and Tikendra Kumar Singhal tied for third place with 73.75%.
